I’m an art librarian by trade, with a background in illustration and sequential art. My research interests include digital art preservation, and I am currently investigating long-term preservation and access issues with regards to webcomics and born-digital comics. I’m also interested in issues around scholarly communication and open access as they relate to the visual arts, and critical approaches to visual literacy.
While completing my graduate studies at the University of Michigan (MSI 2011), I developed a collections strategy for minicomics at the Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library, which continues to grow and serve as a source of creative inspiration and scholarly research.
I earned my BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2008, and have previously worked as a freelance illustrator.
